Building a Reliable IT Foundation for the Agricultural Sector

The client was a major seed supplier that analyzes the agricultural market and helps farms select optimal seeds to increase yields. The project's main goal was to create from scratch a stable, secure, and high-performance IT infrastructure capable of handling peak loads during seasonal agricultural operations. The modernization was driven by the need to consolidate disparate financial and HR databases within a single secure environment. The task required not just purchasing and installing server equipment, but organizing a complete environment for simultaneous remote work by employees with the 1C software suite, while guaranteeing 24/7 availability of critical business processes without failures.

Client Request: Eliminating 1C Failures During Sowing Season

The business urgently needed a stable accounting system, as any technical delays during the active seed sales period led to financial losses. The main challenge was the absence of a unified fault-tolerant server and secure remote access for staff. We needed to rapidly deploy equipment and configure 1C for uninterrupted operation by eight specialists.

Solution: Turnkey Infrastructure Deployment in 75 Days

The project was implemented by a team of two engineers using a full-cycle model. In the first phase, we selected and delivered optimal server hardware. Then we deployed the operating system, configured remote access, and installed 1C databases. The final step was debugging interaction between configurations and launching 24/7 monitoring. All work was successfully completed exactly on schedule.

The Microsoft server OS was chosen for its high reliability and perfect compatibility with corporate accounting systems. RDP protocol was implemented to organize secure terminal access from anywhere in the world. 1C products were used as the industry standard, enabling flexible automation of accounting, payroll calculation, and personnel management.

Implementation of the fault-tolerant environment ensured 100% service availability in 24/7 mode. Eight key employees gained fast and secure access to financial reporting. Downtime risk during the critical season was reduced to 0%. Transferring IT infrastructure to full outsourcing allowed the business to save resources on hiring in-house system administrators. The total budget for successful modernization was $3,000.

Future Plans - Capacity Scaling and Cloud Backup

As sales volumes grow and staff expands, we plan to increase server computing resources. Within the next six months, we intend to implement an automatic backup system to independent cloud storage and integrate a CRM system with current 1C databases.
