Building IT Infrastructure for Manufacturing

The client was a major manufacturing company in the food industry, specializing in producing a wide range of flour-based confectionery products. The enterprise is actively expanding its capacity, which required creating a modern and reliable technological foundation. The main project goal was to build a stable local area network and ensure uninterrupted operation of accounting systems. The modernization was driven by the need to unite disparate workstations into a single network, establish automatic data backup, and organize quality wireless coverage across all three floors of the factory for efficient production process management.

Client Request: Lack of Unified and Stable IT Network

The enterprise faced serious difficulties due to the absence of centralized architecture. Scattered computers complicated information exchange, and the lack of a fault-tolerant server threatened the safety of critical databases. The requirement was to connect 25 workstations within tight deadlines and provide simultaneous access to the accounting system for over 50 employees without freezing.

Solution: Network and 1C Server Deployment in 75 Days

A team of two engineers implemented the turnkey project with a budget of $3,000. In the first phase, we designed a gigabit LAN and laid cable routes. Then we performed physical equipment installation and software configuration of routers. The final step was assembling fault-tolerant RAID arrays and deploying the database server with remote HelpDesk support setup.

Stack: 1C:Enterprise, PostgreSQL, RAID, CryptoPro

The choice of these technologies was driven by high-load and security requirements. PostgreSQL database underwent fine-tuning to ensure maximum performance with dozens of concurrent users. Hardware RAID arrays guarantee data preservation during disk failures, and CryptoPro integration is necessary for secure document workflow and working with electronic keys.

Results: 100% Wi-Fi Coverage and Stable 1C Operation

The implemented infrastructure fully met the food production facility's needs. Over 50 users now work in the accounting system without a single failure. Complete seamless Wi-Fi coverage is provided across all three floors of the building. Automatic backup is configured for 25 workstations, reducing data loss risk to zero. Regular maintenance has reduced equipment downtime.

Future Plans - Network Scaling and PC Fleet Upgrade

With growing production volumes, we are preparing to expand server capacity. In the next six months, we need to connect a new production facility to the unified gigabit LAN, purchase additional access points, and systematically upgrade outdated components at employee workstations.
